Gravekeeper: The Long Night
A downloadable game for Windows

A survival horror with RPG elements. Explore, fight/run from monsters, solve puzzles, and unravel the mysteries surrounding the cemetery! There's also some collectables to find, if you're so inclined.

Every year, the Long Night descends and the world is cast into 7 days of unending night. Where leaving your home means taking your life into your hands. Owen, the town gravekeeper, is tasked with guarding the cemetery from invading necromancers and the creatures that lurk in the darkness. A strange girl randomly appearing? There’s nothing in the handbook about this. Unexpected occurrences in this cemetery are a bad omen. Especially during the Long Night…

This is part 1 of the game. I have several more parts planned that I hope to get released as soon as I can. But since it’s my first game I’m releasing, I wanted to get some feedback and stuff before committing to a whole, complete project. I hope you like it if you decide to check it out!
I encourage you to explore and re-explore with your new friend to get some extra insights...

I just wanted to add it would be nice to see the characters like when its there turn but still showing the enemy in front but showing in front also it's your character turn I guess what I'm trying to say I want to see our characters in battle if I confused you I'm sorry but this game is 10 stars for me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The story telling I loved it every second of it the art work developer you are on your way it would be awesome to have a series of this I don't want to give no spoilers but anybody reading play this game you will love it especially if you're a fan of horror
Sadly I could not finish the game because I noticed a few game design flaws, mainly that the energy management is not that great, I get that there has to be difficulty but the probability of soft locking yourself is huge since there is almost no way to get HP back, that you lose when you fight and as a resource in the overworld.
The part in the forest was just straight up awful impossible to do without restarting my run so I just gave up, I think adding resting on the couch or making energy and sanity last longer would be an easy fix, maybe even adding a battle skill to recover some sanity.
Overall I think it's a great game born from a great idea with some balancing issues, still worth a play for the story and the girl.
Merry Christmas!
I really like the art
Now I do think the rpgmaker move is fun and makes it more interactive than a visual novel, the energy system feels a bit too quick to drain, I think the biggest issue is just it draining while I'm trying to read dialogue/flavour text or if I get lost it's just too punishing and you probably have to reload. Combat seems well balanced so far and item drops are abundant for energy but not much else. Loved the puzzles tho, you're good at adding in a little joke somewhere to make it not so tedious! Aside from the energy system being a little quick to drain I enjoyed my time and would love to play more especially to see other choices I didnt pick!
Thanks for making this and hopefully we see more!
Been a fan of your art for some years and this is the first time I've played a game made by you! The art in this game is very good (and make me feel other things...), but the gameplay itself is not as enjoyable, instead of having to scavenge for food items all the time, I think making enemies dropping some money or food after battle will make the experience better overall, it's hard to explore in later parts of the game due to the lack of energy that is caused by the lack of supplies (like in the cabin part for example). I went into this game completely blind so the story has not caught up to me yet, but it's been fun so far, a lot more things can be improved like the default RPG maker assets (I'm sorry if they aren't but most of them just look like that to me ig). Keep it up!
